After years of relatively mild winters in Western Europe the cold has finally kicked in, covering lakes and canals with a thick layer of ice. Thousands of Europeans, mainly the Dutch, take the opportunity to enjoy ice skating these days.
Upon request we added Ice Skating trips as a new activity at EveryTrail, and quickly dozens of Ice Skating GPS tracks are being uploaded.
If you are near frozen lakes or canals: Enjoy the ice! If you are not, check out some cool trips to get a taste what the Dutch are up to these days, for example: Schaatsen op de Oostvaardersplassen, Schaatsen op het Naardermeer, Skate-A-Round on Ice Waterland (all in the Netherlands) and Iceskating at høvik (Norway).
